Media Product

USE -CONVENTIONS OF REAL MEDIA PRODUCT
My media prdouct uses elements of real media products as it in a typical 'thriller' teaser trailer I have noticed that they use short quick images from the actual film to give the audience an insight of what the film is about and to capture to mood of the genre. I have applied this technique to the teaser trailer to show the realistic production of a trailer, similar to the film 'Taken' and 'Captivity'. From the structure of these trailers that I have analysed I can add the same techniques so it sets the scene for the audience.
Choosing to have the fast paced teaser trailer structured our trailer as it kept the genre recognizable and to keep the audience from getting bored as we wanted to keep the excitement and anticipation of the film. This proved to be a successful chose as from the positive feedback.

DEVELOP - CONVENTIONS OF REAL MEDIA PRODUCT
We stuck to the typical conventions of a thriller/horror, but developed and applied conventions to make the teaser trailer a realistic thriller trailer. We did this through the lighting, location and costume.
Lighting;
Dark lighting within the location to create the mood of mystery (mystery linking in with the poster)
^ convention of a real media product - horror.
Location;
Having the location keeping the element of mystery and linking in with lighting of darkness and the newspaper covered walls, this being a stereotypical type of mysterious horror.
Costume;
The costume of the one character shown is plain, and the face is hidden to show a mysterious person. Another real media convention applied to the teaser trailer.
Linking in with the costume we used a male figure to be our protagonist as media conventions tell us that it is the norm to see a male figure being the 'bad guy'.

Not subverting from the genre we wanted to create, keeping the obvious thriller/horror convention was what we indeed to include in our teaser trailer. I think that we had created a successful teaser trailer and included real media conventions. I'm pleased with the turn out of the teaser trailer that we created and the conventions we had used to make it a realistic production.
